Trial Day

Come and meet your companion's new friends!

$65 per dog

Trial days are by appointment only, and there is a limited number of spaces available. Before we bring you and your dog into the pack, it's important that we get a chance to know each other. Trial days run from before 10am with a pick up after 3pm.

We are now fully booked over the Christmas and New Year period between 25th December 2024 and 3rd January 2025.

We go every week, and nothing makes my dog happier! She has a great time, comes home smelling beautiful, and I get to see cute photos of her. The handlers are all very professional, understand the different dogs needs. I’ve recommended to so many people, and we wouldn’t go anywhere else.

What’s the purpose of a trial day?

The Importance of a Successful Daycare Evaluation for Your Pup

Before your pup can join the pack at a dog daycare, they need to have a successful evaluation. This is a process that helps ensure that each pup is well-suited for the environment, meaning there are no problems that could put other dogs—or your pet—at risk. It’s also an opportunity for you to get to know the daycare center and its staff.

From assessing their individual behavior, health, socialization, and overall health, to reviewing the daycare facility’s policies and practices, a daycare evaluation of your pup can help set them up for success. Ultimately, daycare should provide a fun, safe and stimulating environment that helps your pup grow and learn, and your daycare evaluation will help you determine if the facility is the right fit for your doggo.

Don’t just take our word for it...

Here’s what owners like you are saying

5/5
“K9 has always been a trusted and cherished place for our Goldie’s. The care, exercise and socialisation the animals get is beyond your greatest expectations. I’d like to say our dogs look back whimsically when the team comes to collect them for a stay but their smiles and willingness to leap in to the K9 cars says it all! Thank you K9 Heaven – wish there was a human equivalent : )”

“The team here is wonderful, they keep them safe and take exceptional care, you can see their dedication to service in the interaction with us as owners (nothing is ever an issue- last minute grooming or tense parental phone calls). The best part is they also come home smelling lovely and clean after an action packed day of running around with their friends. Thanks so much to Ollie, Tanya and the team.”

“This is Hudson’s home away from home (or maybe vice versa considering how much his is there). Having a dog who can’t be left alone was super stressful until we found the team here. Ollie and Tania are forever implementing new things to make sure the dog and owner experience is improved. Not to mention, their prices are so competitive and really make it achievable for people.”

Our general open hours of operation are 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday. For your trial day, you’ll need to book a specific time slot with one of our onboarding team for the initial drop off. Our team will be in contact to confirm this once you’ve booked into the calendar. As well as confirming a pick up time in the afternoon of the trial day between 3-6pm.

Yes. We run public group viewings of our facility on a fortnightly basis on Saturday’s at 2pm. Please ensure with our customer onboarding person to get yours booked in if you’d like to see inside.

The purpose of the trial day is for us to observe your doggo in our environment to ensure they feel safe, calm, relaxed and happy. It allows us to better understand their behaviour and ensure it’s appropriate for the packs. Our main concern here for your dog and all the dogs in our care is safety.

We require you to book at least 5 days in advance so we have a chance to speak with you prior to the trial day to get a better understanding of you and your doggo.

Depending on your dog’s temperament we slowly introduce them to the pack and then follow a structured day of observing their behaviour with the other dogs and our team in the yards. If they’re doing really well, we may also get them out for a pack run on the farm but this will depend on how comfortable they feel with us, and us with them.

We have an onboarding team member who will be there each step of the way before, during and after the trial day. We will also provide an update during the day as to how you’re doggo is going.

The price for the trial day is $55. Additionally if you are interested in any of our other services, pricing can be found on their respective services pages.

We accept cash as well as debit/credit card (VISA and Mastercard).

Yes. We require all dogs in our care to be fully vaccinated as well as any dogs over the age of 8 months to be desexed.

We do not accept dogs without NZ Boarding Kennel appropriate and approved Veterinary vaccinations. Dogs wishing to attend K9 Heaven must be:

  • Current with DHP Distemper Hepatitis Parvovirus – Current within 1 year.
  • Current with Leptospirosis – Current within 1 year, if not then a 1 month stand down is required.
  • Up to date with Kennel Cough – Current within 1 year, administered at least 7 days before coming in, nasal or injection.

Please view our up to date Terms & Conditions here

While this is possible, there is a chance your doggo will fail their trial day and would need to be picked up in the afternoon. So while we’re okay for them to board if they pass, you will need to be available to pick them up if they don’t pass.

A better day for your pup is waiting!
